Beyond Academics: Discussing "The Missing Link" in Education at Hotel Ramada, Dehradun

It is often said that education is not just about filling a bucket, but lighting a fire. Recently, I had the incredible privilege of helping to fan those flames at the Doon Valley Education Summit, hosted by the prestigious Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Haridwar Campus.

Held at the beautiful Hotel Ramada By Wyndham in Dehradun, the event brought together some of the brightest minds in the educational sector. It was an honor to attend not just as a participant, but as a CBSE Resource Person and a proud representative of SKILL-ED Glibozens School.

The Missing Link: Social & Emotional Learning

The highlight of the summit for me was the opportunity to take the stage as a Keynote Speaker. My session focused on a topic that I am deeply passionate about: Social & Emotional Learning (SEL): The Missing Link.

In today's fast-paced academic environment, we often focus heavily on grades and cognitive skills. However, my talk centered on the necessity of nurturing the heart of the student alongside the brain. We discussed how empathy, self-awareness, and emotional regulation are not just soft skills, but the very foundation of a successful and balanced life. Seeing the audience engage with these concepts was truly rewarding.

A Moment of Recognition

Sharing the stage with esteemed dignitaries and the leadership of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was a humbling experience. As seen in the photo, receiving a token of appreciation from the organizers was a special moment. It stands as a testament to our collective commitment at Skilled Globizen School to push the boundaries of modern education.

Gratitude

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Haridwar Campus team for organizing such a seamless and impactful summit. Events like these are crucial for educators to collaborate, unlearn, and relearn.

I returned with a renewed sense of purpose and fresh insights to implement in our classrooms.

Here’s to creating an education system that values the emotional well-being of a child just as much as their academic success!
