Recently, I had the incredible privilege of helping to fan those flames at the Doon Valley Education Summit , hosted by the prestigious Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Haridwar Campus . ​Held at the beautiful Hotel Ramada By Wyndham in Dehradun , the event brought together some of the brightest minds in the educational sector. Day 4 | Bet Dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirling, and the Many Forms of Faith (6 January) The next morning in Dwarka, we began early. A cab picked us up directly from the hotel, and the day unfolded as a beautiful journey through devotion, history, and nature. Crossing the Sudama Setu, with calm waters flowing beneath, felt symbolic-like stepping deeper into the spiritual rhythm of Dwarka. Our first major stop was Bet Dwarka. After submitting our mobile phones at the locker facility, we entered the temple premises. Despite the large crowd, opting for the VIP darshan line allowed us to reach the sanctum with ease. The main Bet Dwarka temple, along with several smaller shrines within the complex, carried a distinct spiritual charm. Dwarika: When Faith Waits: and Blessings Arrive By 1:00 p.m. on 5 January, it was time to move ahead on our journey. We boarded a sleeper bus to Dwarka, a comfortable ride that included two brief halts along the way- for lunch and refreshments. The journey felt calm, almost reflective, as if preparing us for what awaited. By 6:35 p.m., we reached Dwarka. From the bus stop, we took an auto to Hotel Gomti, located along the Gomti riverfront and just a short walking distance from the back gate of Dwarkadhish Mandir. The location itself felt thoughtfully chosen- quiet, sacred, and close to the divine center of the town. Soon after our arrival, the Pandit ji visited our hotel and accompanied us to the temple for Sandhya Aarti and darshan. Somnath Ji: Aarti, Darshan, and the Echo of Timeless Faith (4 January Evening & 5 January Morning) The evening of 4 January was devoted to the very heart of Somnath—Somnath Mandir itself. The temple arrangements were systematic and visitor-friendly. Before entering the premises, we stored our backpack in a digital locker, deposited our electronic devices at the mobile locker facility, and placed our footwear at the designated counter. A temple-appointed photographer captured a few moments for us, leaving us with simple yet meaningful keepsakes. Inside the mandir parisar, we joined the queue for the evening Aarti. As the lamps were lit and rhythmic chants echoed through the space, the atmosphere transformed into one of deep devotion. Standing there, surrounded by collective faith, felt humbling and grounding. Day 1–2 | Stepping into a Sacred Landscape From New Delhi to Somanth Ji via Rajkot & Veraval  (3–4 January 2026)  A pilgrimage is not measured in kilometres alone. It is measured in intention. On 3 January, we set out from New Delhi, beginning a journey that would take us closer to one of India’s most enduring symbols of faith— Somnath Ji . Every meaningful journey begins long before the destination appears. Ours started on 3 January, as we left New Delhi with a mix of excitement and quiet devotion. We reached Rajkot by air and chose to stay the night there, allowing ourselves time to rest and mentally prepare for the spiritual days ahead. Early the next morning, 4 January, we boarded the Vande Bharat Express to Veraval. The journey was comfortable and swift, offering moments to simply look out of the window and absorb the thought that we were moving closer to one of India’s most revered spiritual sites. For me, 1st January 2026 unfolded with a moment that felt deeply affirming: my article was published in The Himachal Times on the very first morning of the year. It was more than a publication. It was a gentle reminder that consistency, reflection, and belief in one’s voice eventually find their space. As the calendar turned, my words stepped into the public domain, carrying with them months of thought, lived experiences, and purposeful intent. The timing felt symbolic- as if the year itself was welcoming my journey with open arms. Writing has always been my way of pausing the rush of life, of observing, understanding, and then responding with clarity.
